Psychosocial safety is a critical issue in the arts, creative, and GLAM sectors.
The deep passion and commitment that drive this work—often involving traumatic content or collections—can create environments where psychosocial risks are normalised or overlooked. Many of us have experienced harmful behaviours or conditions without recognising them or feeling empowered to speak up, simply because we value the work so deeply.
This seminar will:
Start a conversation about some of the key issues involved in psychosocial safety.
Raise awareness of psychosocial risks in GLAM workplaces.
Create a safe space for individuals to share experiences and reduce feelings of isolation.
Feature leading experts who will share research and practical strategies to reduce harm.
Connect participants with up-to-date and effective support resources.
Psychosocial risks affect mental, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing—and addressing them is as vital in arts and culture as in any other field.
