EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
DR ASH ROBERTSON
Ash Robertson is an accomplished museum professional with over a decade of experience in the culture and heritage sector. She joined AMaGA Victoria in 2017 and was appointed to the role of Executive Director in 2021.
During her time at AMaGA, Ash has built strong relationships within the Victorian museum network, working closely with institutions to develop collaborative projects and programs. She has also fostered partnerships with government and philanthropic sectors to support and promote AMaGA Victoria's work and the sector more broadly.
Before joining AMaGA, Ash developed her knowledge and expertise of the museum sector through academic study and various industry roles. She holds a PhD in Anthropology/Indonesian Studies from the University of Melbourne and a Masters in Museum Studies from the University of St Andrews. Her professional profile includes institutions such as Museums Victoria, UNESCO, St Andrews Museum, and the National Museum of Scotland.
When she’s not at the office or spending time with her family, Ash enjoys playing gamelan music as a member of the Putra Panji Asmara ensemble.
