ANTHONY CAMM

Anthony is Manager of the Eureka Centre in Ballarat, located at the National Heritage-listed site of the Eureka Stockade Memorial Park. He is leading the process of renewal at the Eureka Centre - the third iteration of a museum at the site since 1998.

Anthony was previously the Director of Ararat Gallery TAMA from 2007 to 2018. The gallery holds the most comprehensive collection of post-1970s textile art in Australia. From 2013 he combined the gallery directorship with the position of Manager Cultural Services, Ararat Rural City Council. He established the business case, attracted funding and played a critical role in the delivery a transformative $7.73M redevelopment of the Ararat Arts Precinct. This project was completed in time to mark the gallery’s 50th year in 2018.

Anthony has more than 20 years’ experience in arts management, project delivery and policy roles, including at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Wyndham City Council and Footscray Community Arts Centre. He holds a BA from La Trobe University and a graduate diploma (art history) and postgraduate diploma (art curatorship) from Melbourne University. Past committee roles include Public Galleries Association of Victoria, NETS Victoria and the Victorian Foundation for Living Australian Artists. His writing has appeared in Eyeline, Art Monthly and in numerous catalogue essays.
