MICHELLE FRACARO
With over 24 years of experience in the Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums (GLAM) sector, Michelle is a highly regarded educator, programmer, writer, and strategic thinker. She lives and works on Dja Dja Wurrung and Taungurung Country.
Michelle is the Programs and Professional Development Manager at AMaGA Victoria. She previously held senior roles at AMaGA's national office, including General Manager, Programs Manager, and Executive Advisor to the National Director. Alongside her institutional work, Michelle operates her own creative business, The Liminal Collective, offering freelance services as an arts administrator, educator, project manager, producer, and creative director.
She has contributed her expertise to leading national institutions including the National Gallery of Australia, the Australian War Memorial, and the National Portrait Gallery, and has worked across state and regional organisations, non-profits, and commercial galleries. A skilled connector, Michelle sees herself as a facilitator for the creative industries—bringing together people, ideas, resources, and collections to create meaningful engagement, learning experiences, and accessible cultural content.
Michelle has recently returned to teaching, with a focus on non-traditional education models that support children and young people with physical, emotional, or neurological challenges. She is also undertaking postgraduate research, exploring the intersections of feminism, witchcraft, ritual, and material culture.
