Executive
Represented AMaGA Victoria at the Indigo Shire Cultural Heritage Advisory Committee, contributing to local heritage planning and decision-making.
Attended a meeting for the National AMaGA Award Steering Committee, including managing the handover to a new National Office staff member to ensure continuity of the awards program.
Built cross-sector networks through meetings with peak body representatives from Victoria and NSW, Victorian Government representatives, and other Victorian cultural organisations, strengthening knowledge-sharing across the sector.
Reviewed the Sector Census pilot phase, incorporating feedback ahead of the 15 July launch to ensure the instrument was fit-for-purpose.
Accreditation
Received submissions from CMAP organisations undertaking Reaccreditation in 2026.
Invited peer reviewers who align to organisation's selected future focus and goals for reaccreditation site visits.
Welcomed three new Accreditation Advisory Committee members, Jenna Blyth (RMIT Design Archives), Eleni Papavasileiou (Vietnamese Museum Australia), Nick Henderson (Australian Queer Archives)
Finalised mid-cycle catch-up meetings with 10 organisations reaccredited in 2022 and 2023 to understand current developments at each organisation, provide program updates and reminders, and offer ongoing support.
Liaised with groups working through the Key Document Scheme, and groups expressing interest in accreditation.
Victorian Collections
Delivered two online workshops – ‘Getting Started with VC’ and ‘Advanced Features’ – with attendees joining from Ballarat, Bass Coast, Bendigo, Gippsland, Metropolitan Melbourne and Murray River regions.
Travelled to meet with VC Users in the Mornington Peninsula region to provide support for organisations currently preparing for data migration to the VC CMS.
Prepared for system updates to the Victorian Collection CMS, collaborating with the developer at Museums Victoria to test and review ahead of release in the coming months.
Our contributing organisations used the VC CMS to catalogue 5378 items in June.
Internship
Joined the Victorian Branch Committee meeting and developed an understanding of how sector challenges are identified, discussed, and addressed through collaborative brainstorming and solution-oriented discussions.
Participated in Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio tour to explore its remarkable synthesiser collection and learn about the history and stories associated with the instruments.
Participated in the AMaGA Victoria Sector Census development process.
Developed practical understanding of conservation, handling and long-term care of organic materials through Seminar Series on Conservation & Preservation: Paper and Textiles.
Participated in the Victorian Collections (VC) Advanced Features workshop to strengthen technical knowledge related to the CMS.
Gained insight into workshop planning and coordination by joining the VC team in planning discussions for the upcoming workshop in Yorta Yorta Nation, which is a part of a collaborative project with Museums Victoria.
Coordinated communication regarding the Equipment Lending Program with participating organisations.
Programs and Professional Development
Delivered a tour of MESS (Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio). Robin Fox provided members with incredible insight into this unique collection.
Delivered the second session of the Collections Conservation and Preservation Seminar Series, with Sherryn Vardy and Larry Edwards, building practical conservation skills across the sector.
Continued preparation for the biennialForum, laying the groundwork for the sector's flagship event.
Finalised and launched the second-half of the Annual Program, giving members visibility of and access to upcoming training and events.
Managed a range of On Demand training enquiries, providing tailored support to individual members and organisations.
