Executive

  • Facilitated the 2026–2028Branch Committee Election, confirming the incoming committee at the Special General Meeting.

  • Represented AMaGA Victoria on the Arts Industry Council of Victoria Board (AICV), contributing to cross-sector advocacy priorities for the Victorian arts and cultural sector; attended joint meeting with Creative Victoria on the National Cultural Policy consultation.

  • Represented AMaGA Victoria for the Museums and Galleries Network OH&S Forum (MAGNET) meeting; contributed to a membership growth strategy to increase numbers and enrich sector engagement

  • Developed and submitted AMaGA Victoria's response to the National Cultural Policy consultation (Revive, 2023).

  • Met with Creative Victoria to reviewFirst Peoples consultant findings in relation to our CEP application and program delivery.

  • Coordinated the launch of the National AMaGA Awards alongside sub-committee members (Adam Jefford, Jane Stewart and Emma Bain).

  • Finalised and submitted AMaGA Victoria's 2025 Annual Report as part of the CEP funding acquittal.

  • Drafted Sector Census alongside Monica Cronin, Ethel Villafranca and Mitraja Bais, including framework design, stakeholder engagement, and roll-out.

  • Attended the GLAM-Show Tour of Northern Victoria, meeting with sector members across Heathcote, Rochester, Echuca, and Nagambie to better understand their needs and challenges.

  • Met with stakeholders to discuss on-demand documentation and digitisation training needs for the Salvadorian community in Melbourne.

  • Attended the unveiling of the Hon. Scott Morrison's bust at Ballarat's Avenue of Prime Ministers.

Accreditation

  • Received reaccreditation submissions from MAP organisations undertaking reaccreditation in 2026.

  • Hosted our second Accreditation Advisory Committee meeting for the year, discussing a range of topics including matching expert peer reviewers with organisations’ future focus areas, planning for the upcoming 2026 Sector Census, and addressing ongoing maintenance requirements for the online Accreditation Portal content.

  • Worked with web developers to migrate the Accreditation Portal to an upgraded server and DNS configuration.

  • Undertook mid-cycle catch-up meetings with 10 organisations reaccredited in 2022 and 2023 to understand current developments at each organisation, provide program updates and reminders, and offer ongoing support.

  • Continued updates to the Accreditation Portal, including sourcing additional Model Documents and updating content relating to Legal Requirements for Collections and Wind-Up Clauses, based on advice from the Accreditation Advisory Committee.

Communications

  • Created video content for the 2026 Victorian Museums and Galleries Awards.

  • Promoted the Reaccreditation of Duldig Studio Museum + Sculpture Garden.

  • Edited video content for Masterclass: Transformational Conversations & Repair Post-Conflict.

  • Supported the migration of the Accreditation Portal to an upgraded server and DNS configuration.

Victorian Collections

  • Met with and welcomed new Victorian Collections’ Steering Committee member from Museums Victoria, Megan Ferguson, along with Nicholas Hudson-Ellis, and outgoing member John Broomfield.

  • Met with Royal Australian Air Force Band Corporal Kate Rockstrom to provide support and advice for documenting and sharing the ABC Military Band March Card Collection via Victorian Collections.

  • Our contributing organisations used the VC CMS to catalogue 3278 items in May.

Internship

  • Attended the Masterclass: Transformational Conversations & Repair Post-Conflict

  • Accompanied the AMaGA team on the GLAM-Show Tour to Heathcote, Rochester, Echuca and Nagambie.

  • Engaged with regional museum and historical society staff during the GLAM-Show Tour to better understand the challenges they face and strengths that define their work.

  • Participated in the Accreditation Advisory Committee meeting and gained an insight into the key themes shaping organisational practice in the sector.

  • Attended the Special General Meeting (SGM) to observe important organisational updates. 

  • Contributed feedback and suggestions during the review of the sector census form.

Programs and Professional Development

  • Delivered a Grant Showcase to 10 organisations across Victoria.

  • Delivered an online Masterclass: Transformational Conversations & Repair Post-Conflict with Veronica Pardo to sector professionals across the country.

  • Delivered to Special General Meeting, which included the announcement of our new Branch Committee.

  • Visited historical societies and small collecting organisations in Heathcote, Echuca, Rochester and Nagambi as part of the GLAM-Show Tour of Northern Victoria.

  • Continued developing the second half of the Annual Program (July - December), due out in late June.

  • Continued developing the AMaGA Victoria Forum, to be held on Tuesday 22 July. The theme for 2026 is Speaking Plainly: Honest Conversations for a Sector in Transition. Tickets will go on sale in early June.
